I'm Kagan (like Genghis Khan). I was born a nomad even though not coming from Mongolia due to my father who worked as an officer in Turkey. Eating and discovering new places through food have been one of my biggest passions. Eating is very basic but important function for me as a Turkish proverb also proves that "food is the backbone of our lives".
I started to cook when I first moved to Tampere for Erasmus. I enjoyed having food parties and cooking for my guests/hosts on Couchsurfing. Back in Turkey, I wanted to create a foo-sharing platform for people. I am also an activist, participated in FoodNotBombs in Istanbul to save food and following similar initiatives.
Since refugee crisis, I had been also following social projects for immigrants in Europe that brought me the idea to create an immigrant kitchen and joined forces to make this happen. I also like to open a community veggie restaurant in Tampere. I'm not a vegan nor vegetarian but I'm an environmentalist and a responsible consumer. I love coking for people and enjoy sharing good food.
